Website Managers
We are in the process of having a website created. It will
be maintained and edited in Dreamweaver and experience
with this program is necessary. Information and documents
to upload
to the website will be given to volunteers by the board.
Estimated hours per week: Initially 3-4, as the website
gets set up and
perfected, but then 1-2 or less after that.
Office Assistants
This would include answering the phone line and responding
to inquiries requesting services, volunteering, donating
and other inquiries. People engaging in office work
will be trained
on proper responses to common calls. Other office work
may include database entry. A high degree of confidentiality
is
required. Timing and hours of work are flexible. Most
of the work will need to be done at the office at 989
Commonwealth
Avenue, Brighton, Mass.
Volunteer Coordinators
As our volunteer numbers grow, we will be seeking help
providing additional training, which may include
coordination with other
programs (both animal-related and domestic violence
related). On-going communication mechanisms (newsletter,
etc) with
volunteers will need to be developed and implemented.
This position will
need to work closely with the board and should have
good communication skills and creativity. Hours per
week: 2-4.
Transporters
Volunteers will be needed to transport animals to
foster homes. Discretion and confidentiality
will be essential.
Must have
access to a car, insurance, and willing to transport
an animal in it. Transportation could involve
destinations up to one
hour away. Timing: flexible, as needed.
Fundraising
associates
Link Up Education Network would like to engage
in fundraising:
• developing a donor/mailing list and solicit
individual donors
• develop relationships with businesses and
corporate donors
• search for foundation funding
• Event planning
People with fundraising experience are preferred.
Both advice and implementation are needed.
While people
would be closely
working with the board, ability to work independently
would be required. Timing: est. 3+ hours/per
week.
Education Coordinators
The Link Up Education Network has run several
one-day training opportunities on various
aspect of “the
Link”. These have
included trainings for police officers, attorneys,
doctors, veterinarians,
social workers -- and more – about the link
between animal abuse and violence toward
people and what
professionals and citizens can do to prevent
it. Volunteers are needed
to help
organize these trainings, including identifying
audiences, speakers, venues, manage rsvps,
etc. Our next planned
event is in the Fall at the Family Justice
Center
Volunteer Recruitment Coordinators
Volunteers are needed to help run orientations
for new volunteers. This can include
identifying space
in a certain
geographic
areas, ensuring facilities/AV/food, publicizing
the event, creating information packets,
summarizing evaluations and following
up with attendees.
Our next orientation
will
likely be this
fall in Marlborough.
Site Visit Coordinators
This opportunity involves visiting potential
volunteer homes to go over details
of the program, discuss
where animal will
be kept. etc. is needed. Initially,
volunteers will accompany a Link Up Education Network
Board member
on visit. Training,
including a checklist will be provided.
Timing: flexible, based on need. Each
visit would
take no less than
2 hours, including
transportation. |
