Organizations
Family Justice Center of Boston
This Family Justice Center (FJC) is a collaborative venture
housing many public and private partners in one location,
making it easier for people who are in violent relationships
to access help. Initially supported by a President’s
Family Justice Center grant from the Office on Violence
Against
Women, the Center is also supported by a non-profit established
for the purpose of sustaining the services. People seeking
help at the FJC will be afforded a one-stop location
of state, local, and community-based programs (such as
Noah’s Ark)
with the goal of ending animal abuse, domestic violence
and child sexual assault.
Jane Doe
Jane Doe Inc., The Massachusetts Coalition Against Sexual
Assault and Domestic Violence brings together organizations
and people
committed to ending domestic violence and sexual assault.
We create social change by addressing the root causes
of this
violence, and promote justice, safety and healing for survivors.
JDI advocates for responsive public policy, promotes collaboration,
raises public awareness, and supports our member organizations
to provide comprehensive prevention and intervention services.
We are guided by the voices of survivors.
Boston Public
Health Commission
The Domestic Violence Program (DVP) is a program of the
Boston Public Health Commission whose mission is to increase
awareness
about domestic violence in the City of Boston and to
support community efforts to address the problem. This
mission
is met through advocacy, networking, and the provision
of education,
training and technical assistance. Also provides a list
of resources.
American Humane Association
Though perhaps best known for our work in protecting
children and animals from abuse, neglect, and maltreatment,
American
Humane’s overarching concern is to build a more humane
society. In recent years, this concern has metamorphosed
into a renewed
practical and scholarly interest into the links between
all forms of family violence: child abuse and neglect;
animal cruelty,
abuse, and neglect; elder abuse; and domestic violence.
We are not singling out any one at-risk population;
rather, our
view is that, in a civilized society, no form of violence
should be tolerated.
Human/Animal Violence Education
Network (HAVEN)
We are a coalition of Berkshire County citizens and
professionals who come together to identify the connections
between
animal cruelty and human violence. As professionals
in the fields
of education, animal protection, human services,
law enforcement, and veterinary medicine we work to find
ways to make Berkshire
County a safer, healthier, and more humane place
for
people and animals
The Humane Society of the United
States’ First Strike Program
The First Strike® campaign was created in 1997 to
raise public and professional awareness about the
connection
between animal
cruelty and other violent crime violence and to
help communities identify some of the origins of violence,
predict its patterns,
and prevent its escalation.

MSPCA Law
Enforcement
To Report Suspected Animal Cruelty Please Call:
(617) 522-6008 or (800) 628-5808
The MSPCA Law Enforcement Department encourages
individuals to contact us to request an investigation
of animal
abuse. In fact, without the assistance of the
public, our mission
to prevent cruelty to animals, help those animals
in need, and prosecute offenders would be nearly
impossible.
